NESN Camera Angle

Is it me, or is the camera angle from the outfield at a higher elevation than usual? I can't quite figure out what's different about NESN's broadcast of the Red Sox game tonight. It seems as if they've zoomed out the typical camera shot from behind the pitcher.

I hope I'm not going crazy!

Thanks. I'm glad I'm not just seeing things tonight.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of this angle either. I prefer the regular zoom and angle. From this alternate shot, you can see the break of the pitches a little better, which is cool.

But c'mon NESN, gimmie back my regular old view.

Its the same angle again tonight, so I think its here to stay, unfortunately.

I noticed again today the same angle on the FOX broadcast of the Cubs game this afternoon. The only reason I can come up with for switching to this new angle is the fact that you can see BOTH of the scrolling ads behind home plate.

I don't like it one bit. I wish they knew what people really thought about it. Or mebbe they do and don't care.

Hey its a totally different angle. The old angle used to be in right center field, they have n0ow switched it to dead center field, and its much higher than the old camera. Its better in high definition, and also it shows pitch movement more. ESPN did it a few years back, but gave it the axe after a few months.
